Certification for spring tension pins

As the leading supplier of spring tension pins in the UK it is usually not much of a surprise when people note that we have the ISO certification in place for our products. Something which does cause the occasional question to be asked, however, is the presence of a “DIN” number. In this day and age it is not a common sight. With this being the case we thought it would be a good idea to look at this in some more detail.

The fact that DIN certification does not appear on a frequent basis means that we sometimes have people misunderstand what it represents. More than once we’ve had someone assume that DIN 1481 was a form of internal reference number for our spring tension pins. Every now and then one of our customers even notes that “DIN” was the name which was used for cables we plugged into stereos many years ago.

Whilst the two answers above are very reasonable assumptions, DIN in fact stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung, which translates as the German Institute for Standardization. As Germany is known and respected for setting very high levels of precision and excellence in several industrial fields, obtaining DIN certification is quite a distinguished honour for any manufactured item.

We are understandably proud of the fact that our spring tension pins meet the certification requirements of DIN 1481, as well as the more widely recognised ISO 8752.

On the one side it might seem excessive to have both the ISO and the DIN approval listed for our spring tension pins. It is the case, though, that we have a complete commitment to delivering a transparent service.

When you choose us as your preferred supplier of spring tension pins we want you to do so from the most informed position possible. Knowing and understanding the certification of, and the standards met by them is something we consider essential for you.
