Here at Caleb Components, we are proud key steel suppliers for all your engineering needs. Key steel is used to locate and drive a pulley, drum, coupling or propeller from drive shafts, a mechanical component used for transmitting torque and rotation. This makes them an essential item for a variety of mechanical engineering jobs and tasks. They are either rectangular or square shaped lengths of either key steel or stainless steel, which are precision ground to endure very tight tolerances and therefore tight fit on the application.
The key steel material makes them an extremely durable item, resistant to rust (dependent upon grade of stainless) and corrosion, and impact resistant.
As key steel suppliers, we offer two sizes of key steel. The first is our range of 12 inch key steels, which are 12 inches in length (300mm) but we can offer either shorter lengths cut to size or in excess of 1 metre.
If you require any more information on our range of key steels, please do not hesitate to contact us.
