E-Clips, can also be known as ‘E’ type circlips or ‘E’ type retaining rings, and are widely used in the engineering and automotive industry.

These parts are designed to be inserted onto shafts or pins with grooves, to help prevent components from moving along the shaft.

They have the advantage of being inserted from the side of the shaft, where axial access is limited, and are often installed using an e-clip applicator tool.

Materials offered included standard carbon spring steel, 420 stainless steel and A4 (316) stainless steel. Other bespoke materials such as inconel, titanium and phosphor bronze can be used too.
