E Clips can also be known as E Type Circlips. They have the advantage of being inserted onto the shaft from the size, and then fitting into a groove.

It can be confusing at times to work out what size E Clip you need, when in fact it’s really simple! If your shaft is a metric sized shaft, you will require a metric E Clip. All metric E Clips are listed by the groove size on your shaft. For example, if you have a shaft of approximately 6mm to 8mm, which has a groove size of 5mm, you will need a 5mm E Clip.

All imperial E Clips are listed by shaft size, so if you have a 1/4″ (0.25″) shaft, you will need a 1/4″ E Clip.
