Materials
Many of our products online are available to purchase in Carbon Spring Steel or Stainless steel.
For example, our Stainless Steel Circlips, The grade of Stainless used is 420 Grade whereas our Slotted Spring Tension Pins (Roll Pins) are A2 Stainless Steel.
We can offer a range of our parts in other types of materials, for example 316 Stainless Steel, 304 Stainless Steel, Beryllium Copper, Brass, Phosphor Bronze and Inconel.
We have supplied 316 Stainless steel Circlips & Spring Tension Pins in the past for customers whose applications are in salt water.
Beryllium Copper, Brass and Phosphor Bronze materials work well if you require a non-magnetic material.
Inconel are also good for salt water conditions, this is also non-magnetic and works well in high temperatures.
Grades of Inconel include 718 and X750.

Our External Imperial Bevelled Circlips have the same characteristics of that of a N1400 Circlip but offers an advantage of ease of fitting where tolerances aren’t too exact.

Our Shim Washers are manufactured to the DIN 988 specification and are available in a Carbon Steel, Plain Finish.
Shim Washers are used to fill up excess gaps. By filling in the space, a Shim Washer can reduce wear and protect both the objects. Our standard Shim Washers begin from 0.1mm thick up to 1mm thick, and from 1.5mm thick are classed as Support Washers. Choosing the thickness of a Shim is done by measuring the gap between the two objects. For example if the gap between your object is 0.5mm thick, you would generally need a 0.5mm thick Shim Washer.

Caleb Components are stockists of Single Coil Retaining Pins, available in a Bright zinc plate finish.
Retaining Pins (also knows as R CLips) have a similar function to that of a Split Cotter Pin or Linch Pin, however they are easier to remove and are able to be re-used.
