Circlips come in many forms and sizes, one of which is the Crescent Ring. The main advantage of using these is that due to there being no lug on this type of Circlip, it offers greater flexibility where otherwise a lug might interfere with surrounding parts. Also, these Crescent Rings can be inserted onto the shaft from being pushed on from the side thus eliminating the need for Circlip Pliers.
