Retaining Pins (also knows as R CLips) have a similar function to that of a Split Cotter Pin or Linch Pin, however they are easier to remove and are able to be re-used.

A Heavy Duty External Circlip is known for its larger thickness of that of a standard External DIN 471 Circlip, even though it does follow the same design. Having an greater thickness increases the strength of the Circlip significantly and is ideal where Heavy Duty applications are required.
