Shim Washers are made to precise dimensions and are used to take up excess space in assembles e.g. Bearing assemblies. As these parts come in a variety of thicknesses usually, 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.5mm and 1.0mm (thicknesses above 1.0mm are generally classed as Support Washers), they offer a wide variety of packing thickness.

We also supply Shim Washer Kits for both the smaller sizes and medium sizes.

Grip Rings – These parts enable high gripping pressure because of their large section height. These part also has the advantage of being reused as they are not usually stretched beyond it’s elastic limit, and also causing no damage to the shaft.

Crescent Rings – These parts offer a higher resistance to thrust loads than your standard type of E-clips. These are radially fitted circlips for shafts with grooves.

Here at Caleb Components we offer both Split Cotter Pins and Retaining Pins (R-Clips) in BZP finish.

A Split Cotter Pin is a simple fastening device. This part is simply pushed through a whole, which is just slightly bigger than outside diameter of the pin. As parts are manufactured in Mild Steel, the legs simply bend around the component to hold it in place.

Retaining Pins (R-Clips) serve a similar function to the Split Cotter Pin, the difference being the Retaining Pin is easy to remove as just one half of the pin locates on the outside diameter of the component.

Split Cotter Pins however, are a little more difficult to remove as the legs have to be bent back to their original position in order to extract the pin from its component.

The job of this fastener is to pushed on to the shaft to give immediate grip and fix and therefore eliminating costly threading and grooving operations.

Caleb Components is a stockist of both Medium Duty and Light Duty Serrated Safety Washers. These washers are based on the Disc Spring concept, however these have serrations on both faces that grips into the bolt/screw head as well as the mating surface, ensuring a tight grip.
These are particularly useful in situations where there is a high amount of vibration such as electric drills, washing machines etc.
